| Farsons Hopleaf Pale Ale | 3.8% | Pale Ale. The original British version of this beer - Simonds Hopleaf Pale Ale - was involved in the first trademark dispute. Bass claimed that the red hopleaf on the Simonds label was too similar to their own red triangle. The court agreed and Simonds had to change their label design. | ||

Independent
brewery. Formed in 1929 by the merger of Simonds (of Reading, who had been
exporting beer to Malta since 1880) and Farrugia and Sons. Farrugia and
Sons had produced the first Maltese-brewed beer - Farsons Pale Ale - in
