| Introduction | |
| Klagenfurt is Austria's sixth largest town
and the capital of Kärnten. Though that still doesn't make it a great
metropolis. It's home to just over 100,000 people. Pubs Austrian pubs - and those of Innsbruck are no exception - have lots in common with those over the border in the Czech Republic. Half litre measures, reasonably-priced food and vaulted ceilings are the features that most readily spring into my mind. Beer There's plenty of the usual Brau Union stuff, but the town's independent brewery, Schleppe, is also well represented in Klagenfurt's pubs. Brauerei Hirt, another brewery from the Kärnten region, runs a brewpub in Klagenfurt. |
