| Introduction | |
| This is a short guide to beer pubs in Lübeck. I've wanted to visit Lübeck for ages. It sounds a beautiful city. That I can have this guide without ever having been within 50 km of the place, is thanks to Bob Fenley. He generously provided me with all the details and the photographs. | Index Lübeck Pubs |

Former
customs post, dating from 1589. Saved from redevelopment in the 1980s. Three
separate drinking areas, all with wooden panels and benches. A gem. This is what Lars Marius Garshol has to say about the pub: "It really is a gem. They seem to have regular live concerts. Big outdoor seating area on the pavement in summer. Menu is accurate, but it seems that the "after 20:00" beers you can only get on the first floor inside, and not outside or on the ground floor." |

Traditional
pub with friendly clientele. This is what Lars Marius Garshol has to say about it: "Interesting place. Very local, with a huge bearded and long-haired bartender+cook (same person) who is friendly and helpful, even if he at first sight looks rather rough. Plays Irish pub music and old rock, quite nice. Dark, small, well-worn, and definitely smoky. A surprisingly nice place, once you get used to it. A lot more UK/Ireland-oriented than the vast majority of German pubs." |
