Introduction

The most impressive intergrated transport journey I've ever made was in Zurich. A fellow obsessive organised a route that included every possible form of locomotion - bus, tram, train, boat, cablecar, funicular railway - all in one cohesive round trip. I should have been paying more attention on the pub front.

Pubs
Swiss pubs - what can I say, except watch out for the prices. But you know that already.

Beer
Zürich's most renowned brewery, Hürlimann, has fallen foul of international "rationalisation". It closed at the end of the nineties. Switzerland's only internationally famous beer, Samichlaus, is now brewed in Austria. Sic transit and all that.

Public transport
The journey planner of the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (Zürich's tram and bus company) could come in handy. Unless you're an irresponsible twat who drinks and drives. Or a pushbike user.
